17th July 2008 Windsurfing: Essaouira Wind Direction: NW Wind Stength: F5/7 Surf / Sea State: 1-2ft Air Temperature: 28C Sea Temperature: 18C Weather: sunny Max Speed: Distance Covered: 2nd day in Essaouira. I love this place, waking up on the 3rd floor of the riad with the wind howling out side, breakfast on the roof terrace then off to the beach. Lessons inthe morning for Jules and Jordan, then my turn in the afternoon. Jules and Jordan went off in one of the safety boats to a more sheltered area near the port where the water was flat and the wind a lot lighter. The return trip in the boat in thro the waves was, lets say, interesting ;-) Spent the whole afternoon carve gybe training in the small waves and choppy conditions. This is what I wanted to practise, gybing overpowered in conditions more similar to home than many holiday spots! Took the Syncho 92 again and a 5.0m which was very well powered up. Loads and loads of carving practise, not always very successful but great session none the less. |
